In March 2026, Google deployed a named user agent called Google-Agent, which identifies when AI agents are acting on behalf of users: browsing pages, evaluating content, completing tasks. Sites can see Google-Agent visits in their server logs today.
The agentic evaluation of your content is no longer theoretical. It is observable. If Google-Agent has visited your pages, an AI agent has evaluated you on behalf of a user. The question is what it found.
This changes the urgency calculation for everything above. If your pages are currently ranking — and your content is being visited by Google-Agent — the evaluation is happening right now. An AI agent checking your content against evaluation criteria is not waiting for WebMCP adoption.
