This has always been how trust-based systems select who to recommend. AI has not invented a new game. It has made the existing game more legible — and made the cost of getting the foundation wrong more immediate.
The businesses that ask the audience question first, fix the entity infrastructure that allows AI to identify them with confidence, structure their content to be extracted and attributed, and build consistent earned coverage in the right publications — those businesses are building a compounding position.
